Are Electric energy straws sustainable?
Unistraw only uses sustainable straws. This has been the case since 2018. Electric energy straws are cellulose acetate, made by treating cellulose from trees with acetic acid (vinegar).
Can I use a straw more than once?
Each and every Electric energy straw is designed to serve a single serve. The serve is finished when the straw is empty and the glass is also empty. The straw itself may be used again as often as you would like. You will notice the care we take to roll the ends of our straws to make them very comfortable and smooth on your lips.
How do I know if I have taken the whole serve of Electric energy?
You have taken the serve of Electric energy when the straw is empty and the drink has been finished. The serve was in the coating inside the straw before you started and some was delivered directly to your mouth whilst sipping, some also washed back into the glass. This is the reason the whole beverage needs to be consumed. It is all about your intentions.
What can I drink the straw with?
The straw is designed with water in mind and all Nutritional Facts details for a serve assume water. However, the electric energy may be consumed with both still and sparkling water, any cool still or sparkling beverage, such as iced tea, or even more exotic beverages such as cocktails.
Which end goes into the drink?
We suggest the end that is not in your mouth. đ Seriously, the straw will work with either end in the beverage. Electric energy straws will work better if the coated end is placed into the drink. This helps the coating to dissolve quicker.
How much water should I drink?
Drink as much as is necessary to dissolve the content of the straw. This will be about 12oz/400ml for each Electric energy straw. The straw needs some time, and you should drink with the intent of having the content dissolve and to consume the liquid. If there is still come coating left, add a little more liquid to finish the straw. It is all about your intentions.
The coating in my straw didnât dissolve fully.
The coating in your Electric energy straw is made from water-soluble food materials. Whilst it may operate magically, it is not actually magic. It will take time to dissolve. Dissolution time is affected by the beverage, the temperature of the beverage, the way you drink it and the time taken. I drink my straws with the intent to have it all dissolve. I donât use a straw if I am gulping a whole bottle of water due to extreme thirst. I use the straw when I am working at my desk or busy outside and have time to sip away whilst I am doing other things. This gives time for the coating to dissolve, makes the beverage taste great and delivers the energy I am wanting. It is all about your intentions.
Does Electric use paper straws?
Electric energy straws are not paper straws as paper straws are not fit for purpose. Our straws are equally as plant sourced and equally as compostable as paper, just more functional and much better as straws.
Are Electric straws compostable?
Electric energy straws use cellulose acetate for the straws. This polymer is plant sourced and home compostable. It is equally as compostable as paper â and also made from trees.
Are Electric straws plant sourced?
Yes, Electric straw polymers are plant sourced. The cellulose acetate we use in our straws is made by combining cellulose from trees with acetic acid which is essentially vinegar. Our cellulose acetate is made in the US.
Are Electric energy straws certified home compostable?
Yes, Electric energy straws are certified home compostable by TĂV Austria. The certification number is TA8022206417. The straw material was certified in 2022 and the current certification is valid until February 2027. Electric energy straws have a wall thickness of 0.18-0.19mm to help them compost easier. The straws can carry the âOK COMPOST HOMEâ conformity mark.
Is the wrapping film compostable?
Yes, the wrapping film is compostable. It is industrially compostable. The wrapping film is manufactured from poly-lactic-acid (PLA) which is plant sourced and compostable. The film is a laminate with aluminum. The aluminum will readily oxidise in the environment to salts which are naturally present in the environment and non-toxic.
Where should I dispose of my straws and film?
Straws and film should both be disposed of in the general waste stream. The straws are home compostable, but will not compost quickly unless the conditions in the compost vessel encourage microbial habitation and proliferation.
Are the Electric paper cylinders compostable?
Yes, the paper cylinders are compostable. They will break down like any cellulose based product. The cylinders are also recyclable and should be disposed in the recycling stream as they are a valuable resource for recycling into paper and cardboard.
How much caffeine is in each straw?
Each Electric energy straw contains 100mg of caffeine. We modulate the caffeine effect by also using L-Theanine in the proprietary blend. This gives a very noticeable energy increase, but not the jittery peak nor the crash associated with many energy drinks.
What is the proprietary energy blend in Electric straws?
The Electric straw proprietary energy blend contains caffeine for the energy boost now, modulated with l-theanine to eliminate the spike, jitters and crash. It also contains vitamins Bâ, Bâ and Bââ at about 100% RDI for each. The B group vitamins build your body cellsâ ability to burn energy better and function better over time. Zinc is also included to build immunity and general wellbeing.
What flavors are in the Electric energy straw range?
Our initial launch includes six flavors what we feel will appeal to most people. Lemon Lunacy is a sweet lemon flavor. Watermelon Wow is a refreshing watermelon flavor. Strawberry Solace is a delicious strawberry flavor. Cherry Craze is a sour cherry flavor. Tropical Tango is our tropical getaway flavor. Raspberry Revelry is a traditional raspberry flavor. All flavors are natural.
What pack sizes are available?
We offer ten straw packs of each flavour for general home/office/work consumption. Each ten pack contains ten straws of the same flavour. You can purchase a range or choose just the one you like best.

Electric straws are available at several convenience stores across California. They are also available online at our store www.electricstraws.com. We can deliver to your address with packs from 1x 10 packs to as many as you want.
Is there a mixed flavour pack?
Yes, we have a mixed flavour 30 pack in our Electric energy straw range. This pack is designed for dispensing on a convenience store counter. It contains Raspberry Revelry, Lemon Lunacy, Strawberry Solace and Cherry Craze. Each straw is labelled for individual sale.
Where are Electric energy straws made?
Our Electric energy straw factory is in San Diego, California. This is where we blend the coating, apply it within the straw, package the product and prepare it for delivery to your address. It is also where we undertake product development for new and exciting flavours and products.
